Do you have a minute? Because I’d like to share a little story with you. It’s not too long, I promise – I know you’re busy! :)
Before I even started this blog (which was June of 2010, to be exact) I found a blog that I found hilarious, inspiring, and overall amazing. That blog was We Are That Family, which writer Kristen Welch kept interesting with humorous stories, heartfelt confessions, and great little tips and crafts. I loved it and really aspired to have my blog become more like hers – I wanted to be funny, and truthful, and open about everything. I don’t know if I’ve managed to become that, but I have followed Kristen and her family’s journey to something incredible.
They started a maternity home in Kenya.
I’m not kidding.
This maternity home provides safe shelter for women – some who’ve been raped – who are pregnant and need a safe place to live. They provide maternity care, care during the birth of the child, and care for the mother and child after birth. God is working through the Welches (and countless others) who are supporting this mission, and today, I have exciting news!
YOU can help, too!
I just love these gorgeous necklaces – don’t you? Well, today you can purchase them at the grand re-opening sale at the Mercy House Shop! And, even better, I have a super-awesome savings code for you – enter REGRAND at checkout and save 20% off your purchase! (REGRAND code is good through September 10th, 2012)
Besides the hand-made recycled paper jewelry, there are also great t-shirts that help support the Mercy House – and they’re so cute!
I know I’ll be doing some shopping at the Mercy House Shop today – will you? 100% of the proceeds go right back to Kenya – that’s a gift for someone or yourself that you can feel really good about giving!
Again – enter REGRAND at checkout to save 20% off your order.
What’s your favorite item over at the Mercy House Shop?
