I don’ t know about you, but I have lots of trouble getting my kids to smile for the camera.  Sarah is especially difficult.  However, during our recent family vacation, I discovered one almost foolproof way of getting her (and the other kids) to smile:

the self-timer

Suddenly, all our photos had to be with the timer – which was great, because it meant I almost always had smiling faces AND they were actually looking at the camera.  (Mine has an orange light that flashes faster as the timer counts down – works like a charm!)

  1. I never even thought to use my self timer – great idea! Of course, first I need to learn how to sue that feature. ;)

  2. That’s a great idea! My camera flickers orange before taking the picture too so I’m going to start using it!

  3. I’ll have to try the self-timer trick, although I suspect my 19-month old will use the extra time to run completely out of frame.
