This isn’t really a ‘tip,’ per se, but more of away of thinking. My life, like so many others, is busy…all the time, it seems! Sometimes I become distracted with writing this article or taking photos of food or jotting down notes that I forget about the real important things. Taking photos of my family, my kids – spending time chatting with my children, my husband. Reading books, playing pretend, or just focusing on my children without distraction.
It’s hard, I know, but it’s so important. So I try to remind myself – “Don’t Hesitate” – when it comes to my children. Don’t get me wrong – I’m not saying you should drop everything all the time for your children – they do need to learn patience and manners, but stopping what you’re doing to focus on them can also show them so much. “You’re more important than my computer/phone/iPad.”
“Don’t Hesitate” also can be applied to chores. Sometimes I’ll see something that needs to get done – dishes unloaded, laundry folded, the floor swept – and I think: “I don’t have time, I have to check my e-mail.” Then I stop myself – the chances are the 10 minutes it will take me to complete a few things around the house will not cause me to miss an extremely time sensitive and important e-mail. (Probably…bloggers have a slight e-mail addiction, I think!)
Don’t get me wrong – I’m not perfect. I’m far from it – I occasionally snap at one of the kids if they interrupt me multiple times in the middle of writing what I think is an important thought. However, I’m working on it. It’s a daily journey, taken by small steps. If I can do it, you can, too. Don’t Hesitate.

Great mindset. I think that sometimes I have a hard time deciding on things, especially when outings and activities come our way. Sometimes we should embrace life and just go for it! Thanks for sharing. Found you from WFMW.

So funny that I was just chastising myself this morning for being such a procrastinator. That’s a great motto to keep in mind. I, too, try to make sure that as much as I can, I am giving my children my undivided attention. Great post.

regardless of what I’m “working” on I really do try to stop what I’m doing if my kids NEED me. Now if they are just asking for their 18th snack or want me to look at the bug on the window that stuff can wait a moment but I want my kids to know that they come first.
