Recently, our family had the fantastic opportunity to travel to Coronado Island and stay at the Hotel del Coronado, which was beautiful and lovely. However, sharing one room with two queen beds (that were quite high off the ground) was difficult with two little ones. My husband and I didn’t really want to go to bed at the same time as the kids (very early) and we wanted to make sure they were safe and didn’t roll off the beds.
Enter…my friend, Kim, who’s been a great friend and has many brilliant ideas, who shared with me her daughter slept in a tent during a recent trip. Not a big camping tent, but a small play tent. I actually borrowed the tent from her, and guess what?!? It was GREAT!
HOW CUTE ARE THEY?!?! And they slept so well – we used the blankets from the second bed to make padding on the bottom of the tent, and then draped another blanket over the doorway so they wouldn’t be distracted by seeing us move around the room. It worked so well – we even brought their white noise and it was so quiet, we didn’t notice it. My husband and I were able to chat and snack on some goodies left for us after the kids were sleeping. And no one fell out of bed!
